The Swedish interior and furniture-designer Hans Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) worked between the 1950's and the 1970's during the golden age of Scandinavian design. It is known to many for its soft, glare-free lights, which are influenced by the organic modern style of the Danish master of lighting Poul Henningsen and the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto. Although nowadays less well-known than many of the celebrated mid-century lighting designers, Jakobsson created a whole range of pendant, floor, wall and table lamps that reflect his preference for various materials and shapes, as well as his deep understanding of light effects.
